Hack the Runway Design Challenge

Wearable technology is HOT! We are pleased to announce the Hack the Runway Design Challenge and Showcase competition at the first annual 2017 Lansing Mini Maker Faire.

Hack the Runway Design ChallengeTalented local, regional, and national fashion designers are invited to bring their innovative creations that integrates some kind of visible wearable technology, such as LED lights, mini-computers, 3D printed accessories and garments, laser-cut art, etc. to compete for the Grand Prize.

Modern fashion designers are no stranger to technology and innovation. The Hack The Runway Design Challenge was created to introduce Lansing Maker Faire attendees to talented local fashion designers, by using cutting edge technology in their designs to create wearable technology and showcase during the first ever Lansing Maker Faire.

 

The Grand Prize:

  • Six Month Membership to The Runway
  • Start Up Funding
  • Laser Cutting Services
  • Other In Kind Services

 

The Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Design must have some type of technology integrated into the peice. This could include 3D Printing, LED Lights or other visible technology
  • Designer must have a runway wearable piece, however, a retail ready piece is no required.
  • Must be available on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th for showcase and runway show during Lansing Maker Faire
